Kanye West brings Taylor Swift’s name up regularly, and he’s been doing so quite frequently lately as the rapper continues to promote his new album Vultures 1. He recently took to Instagram to call out the pop singer’s fan base, to praise the superstar and, of course, to add fuel to the fire that is their very public spat.

The controversial hip-hop musician shared a screenshot of an X (formerly Twitter) account dedicated to Swift. The tweet he shared was one attempting to get Swift’s fans to continue to buy the new Beyoncé singles and help them score a sizable debut on next week’s Billboard charts. The goal is less to support Bey, and more to ensure that West’s new single “Carnival” arrives lower than it might otherwise on the Hot 100.

West caught this post and shared it to his 20 million followers on Instagram. He also had some choice words, including a few comments about Swift and his relationship to the Grammy winner.

The rapper began his caption by saying, “WHEN I SAID THAT I’M THE NEW JESUS BITCH I WASN’T EVEN THINKING ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT.” West used that line in “Carnival,” which is the tune that Swifties are trying to keep from ruling the Billboard charts next week.

He then went on to add that Swifties should “REMEMBER I WAS ON TAYLOR’S SIDE WHEN SCOOTER BOUGHT HER MASTERS BEHIND HER BACK,” referring to when the singer’s masters were sold away from her. That caused the superstar to begin re-recording her first six albums–a process which has become hugely successful for her. West also said something lovely about her, stating, “SHE AND BEYONCÉ ARE BIG INSPIRATIONS TO ALL MUSICIANS WE ALWAYS SAY HOW BOTH SELL OUT TOURS AND MOVIES.”

But the line that has many Swifties–and perhaps Swift herself–raising an eyebrow came toward the end of his lengthy caption. “I’M SURE I’VE BEEN FAR MORE HELPFUL TO TAYLOR SWIFT’S CAREER THAN HARMFUL” the rapper commented. He also tacked on one joke–or so it seems–by saying, “TO ALL TAYLOR SWIFT FANS I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY UUUM IM NOT YOUR FRIEND EITHER THOUGH LOL.”

The effort from Swifties was seemingly prompted by another action of West’s. Earlier this week, he shared another X post, one which showed that he had supplanted the “Anti-Hero” musician as the No. 1 most-streamed artist on Spotify. He seemingly shaded her in doing so, and her massive fan base responded by attempting to keep West from another major commercial success.

“Carnival” has been chosen by fans as the most popular track from Vultures 1. The track quickly shot to No. 1 on Spotify’s U.S. chart, and it’s been outperforming every other track on his collaborative new album with Ty Dolla $ign. The song is competing with Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” for a lofty start on the Hot 100 next week. Both seem like they’re headed for a top 10 start, but while some are working toward seeing her beat the rapper, his fans would love to see him end up on top.
