Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken about the current Manchester United squad.
Sir Alex Ferguson has picked out the two players that Manchester United must keep at the club.
Scotsman Ferguson will go down in history as arguably the best manager to ever grace the sport.
Throughout his 27-year tenure as United boss, Ferguson completely changed the club’s fortunes, leading them to 13 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues among other achievements.
Speaking recently to TikTok star Jamal Niaz, Ferguson was asked about the impact youngsters Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have had.
The pair impressed during a tough season for Erik ten Hag’s men, both scoring in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.
Ferguson said: “It’s the foundation isn’t it?. It’s the heart and soul of what Manchester United has been since the days of Sir Matt Busby, who started the whole process of trusting young players playing.
“They’re young. What they’re showing at the moment, the composure and confidence to play in the first-team, and not be daunted by it.”
He added: “In a way, it shows you the kind of courage they have. It’s a distinction in human beings, some have the will to be that [fearless at a young age].”

This summer, Garnacho was part of the Argentina squad that won the 2024 Copa America in the United States of America.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Mainoo was rewarded with a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024 after impressing at Old Trafford.
Mainoo started in the final against Spain but the Three Lions fell short after a late goal by Mikel Oyarzabal sealed a 2-1 victory for Luis de la Fuente’s men.
Both players will now enjoy some time off before returning to training ahead of the 24/25 campaign.
After losing 1-0 to Rosenborg earlier in the week, United are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they take on Scottish outfit Rangers.
