Heart singer Ann Wilson has been diagnosed with cancer.

In a heartfelt statement shared via Instagram Tuesday, the “Barracuda” singer, 74, revealed she “recently underwent an operation to remove something” that was cancerous.

“The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it,” she continued.

Wilson went on to tell her followers that her doctors have suggested she “take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”

In light of the recent decision, the singer has decided to delay Heart’s Royal Flush Tour, which was scheduled to begin in Cleveland on July 30 and run through December.

“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025,” the lead singer of the rock band wrote.

Heart’s official Instagram account told fans to “hold onto their tickets” as the band promises “more information to be announced” in the coming weeks.

“This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing,” she explained. “Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter.”

The news comes just months after the cancellation of the band’s European tour dates.

The decision was made after Wilson underwent a “time sensitive but routine medical procedure” that had a minimum recovery time of six weeks.

“I’m OK. Please don’t worry. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Wilson promised fans at the time of the announcement. “It’s certainly an inconvenience for me. Love & respect always, Ann.”
