Sha’Carri Richardson has gone through a lot more adversity than your typical athlete. In 2021, she was banned from the American track and field team for testing positive for marijuana and would not have the opportunity to compete in the Tokyo Olympics.

However, in 2024, she represented America at the Paris Olympic Games and won a silver medal in the 100-meter race and a gold medal in the women’s 4×100-meter relay. Her struggles weren’t forgotten, as she had “I’m not back, I’m Better” painted on her nails.

The words refer to when Richardson won the 100-meter at the US Championships and told everyone, “I’m not back. I’m better.”

“Everything I’ve been through… to be in this moment right now,” she told reporters after her 100-meter victory. “There’s nothing I’ve been through that hasn’t designed me to sit right here in front of you.”

These Olympic Games have indeed been amazing for her. After three years of criticism and doubt surrounding her previous ban, she was finally able to show what she’s capable of on a global scale.

Sha’Carri Richardson Confirms Status For 2028 Olympic Games.

After a fantastic performance at the 2024 Olympic Games, Richardson has made it obvious she wants to continue competing in 2028.

“I’m going to be in the Olympics in 2028,” she said, according to The Athletic. “Because I have the mindset for it and I see it in my future

She is just 24 years old and might not have even hit her prime yet. If she continues on the path she’s currently on, a gold medal could undoubtedly be achievable.

Of course, she must first stay out of trouble and qualify to make the team.
