Kim gave fans an up-close look at the skin condition she’s struggling with, admitting she’s becoming desperate to find a treatment.

Kim Kardashian has let fans in on many aspects of her life, and now the reality star is revealing the difficult skin condition she’s been dealing with, which the SKIMS founder describes as “painful.”

Sharing with her 142 million Instagram followers, Kim shared a close-up image of her leg, which showed a patch of red, irritated skin that the reality star identified as psoriasis.

Kim has avoided talking about her forgotten marriage to Damon Thomas, but here’s everything that’s known about her first trip down the aisle.

“How crazy is my psoriasis right now guys,” she explained. “It’s like all up my leg and I don’t know what’s happening but I got to figure this out… this is crazy.”

Kim Showed Off Her Psoriasis Flare-Up

Kim admitted she’s unsure what her skin condition is flaring up and also said she’s tried a variety of remedies to combat the painful rash with no success. “I’ve tried everything,” she wrote. “Psoriasis sucks.”

The Kardashians star went on to say that while it’s normal for her to have a small psoriasis patch on her left, she was becoming concerned with how big the recent flare-up was becoming, seemingly hoping for reassurance or advice from her followers.
“But now I can tell it’s going down my leg and up my leg and all up my thigh,” she went on. “I just know it’s time to figure this out.”
Kim did try to put a positive spin on her condition, though, pointing out that the red mark almost formed the shape of a heart.

“Wait am I tripping or is my psoriasis in the shape of a heart for Valentine’s Day,” Kim said while zooming onto the psoriasis. “Lucky me, I have a heart-shaped psoriasis.”

Kim First Admitted To Having Psoriasis In 2019

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin condition characterized by the rapid buildup of skin cells, leading to scaling, inflammation, and redness on the skin’s surface.

The exact cause of psoriasis remains unclear, but it is believed to involve an interplay of genetic, immune, and environmental factors. Genetic predisposition plays a significant role, as individuals with a family history of psoriasis are more likely to develop the condition. Moreover, certain triggers such as stress, infections, injury to the skin, and certain medications can exacerbate symptoms or initiate flare-ups.

Symptoms of psoriasis vary in severity and presentation but commonly include red patches of skin covered with silvery scales, dryness, itching, and discomfort. These patches can appear anywhere on the body, including the scalp, elbows, knees, lower back, and nails. In some cases, psoriasis can also affect the joints, leading to a condition known as psoriatic arthritis, which causes pain, stiffness, and swelling.

Kim first opened up about her struggles with psoriasis in a 2019 essay published on her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh lifestyle website. Kim said she first began noticing symptoms of the conditions in the mid-2000s, including arthritis.

“If you have psoriasis, you can’t let it ruin your life or get the best of you,” Kim said at the time. “You have to do what you can to make sure you are comfortable but not let it take over … I hope my story can help anyone else with an autoimmune disease feel confident that there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
