A big decision has been made.
Ralf Rangnick’s only signing as Manchester United boss has signed a new contract with the club, which keeps him at Old Trafford until at least 2027.
Rangnick took charge of 29 games as United’s interim boss, finishing with an uninspiring 38% win ratio.
The 65-year-old was initially set to stay on as a technical consultant at United before taking the Austria national team job with his side catching the eye at Euro 2024.
The fact it was rather shocking to see Austria head out of the competition in the round of 16, demonstrates just how well they had played under Rangnick during the group stages.
During his time at United, the German spoke honestly about the need for “open heart surgery” in the United squad but was only able to bring in one new recruit.
In March 2022 Tobias Collyer joined United on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Brighton, with the defensive midfielder being placed in the u-21 setup on arrival.
Collyer is yet to make his competitive United debut but has been on the bench for seven Premier League games, including each of the last four fixtures of the season.
The England youth international has had a run out with the seniors during last year’s pre-season tour in the US.

Collyer has now put pen to paper on a brand new deal at Old Trafford, with the club releasing the following statement following the announcement: “Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer has signed a new contract with the club, running until 2027 with the option to extend to 2028.
“The new deal is reward for his efforts since joining the club and everybody would like to congratulate Toby and wish him well for what lies ahead in 2024/25.”
The 20-year-old could be one to look out for next season as he makes his step up through the ranks, with Erik ten Hag already demonstrating he is willing to give youth a chance with the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
