The jaw-dropping nightclub inside Real Madrid’s £860m Bernabeu renovation… as Spanish giants race to get super luxury box ready for Taylor Swift

Real Madrid have revealed stunning pictures of the ‘crown jewel’ in their £860million revamp of the Santiago Bernabeu.

The super-exclusive Skybar, which will accommodate 200 guests, is not only the most luxurious seat in the house on matchdays but will then transform into a nightclub to dance the night away afterwards.

The 14-time European champions are in the midst of a huge overhaul of their iconic home, which will lift capacity to 85,000 and will feature a 360-degree screen and retractable roof.

The new VIP area right at the top is expected to be operational by the end of April and certainly in time for Taylor Swift‘s concert there on May 29.

Real haven’t yet revealed the prices for the new SkyBar but tickets are likely to be among the highest in sport, albeit with variations between a Champions League showdown and run-of-the-mill LaLiga games.

Those lucky enough to have a ticket will enter through one of two entrances lined with neon lights intended – in the words of SkyBar designers Room 1804 – ‘to evoke the emblematic skyscrapers of Madrid.’

The area will be split into four areas, with the restaurant and nightclub at opposite ends and a large bar in the centre. Drinks bottles will be displayed prominently in a feature at the centre of the room.

Tiered areas of seating, including couches with drinks tables, will then overlook the pitch.

The oval-shaped bar will be made of marble and bronze to ‘generate reflections’, giving the impression of an upmarket cocktail lounge.

The restaurant area and the nightclub will feature enormous LED screens covering the walls and ceiling, enabling all kinds of images to be projected depending on the ambience.

The artist’s impressions release by Room 1804 show a constellation of stars projected into the room. DJs will be invited to perform sets at events so there will be no heading home at the final whistle.

The idea is that the Skybar won’t just be used on matchdays but can be hired out as a business space for 500 guests, while it will open up as a bar and restaurant in the evening.

It is also set to form part of the Bernabeu stadium tour, serving as a stop-off for a soft drink or snack while enjoying panoramic views of the pitch and also the city looking in the other direction.

The revamped Bernabeu also features a SkyWalk, an 800-metre long terrace which wraps around the top level of the stadium.

The refurbished Bernabeu officially re-opened back on September 2 last year and appropriately enough it was new star Jude Bellingham who earned a 2-1 win with a last minute goal in front of 66,000 fans.

A further 20,000 on top of that will be accommodated when all the work is finished and Real will have a state-of-the-art home that will be the envy of world football.
