At the Met Gala, Hailey Bieber suffered against fans yelling “Jelena” at her. The enthusiasm that fans experience while seeing their idols comes to mind when we think of fans, however, this was not the case at the MET gala.

But hold on, while we’re on the subject of fans, did Selena Gomez fans actually boo Hailey and Justin Bieber at the year-end gala? We’re certain that you’ll find this interesting. What was Selena Gomez’s response to it? However, let’s start at the beginning and discuss what the Met Gala is.

Hailey Bieber has brought the various rumour mills to a halt in a new interview.

From her and Justin’s sex life to his past relationship with Selena Gomez, nothing was off topic when the model appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week.

Aside from whether or not she hooked up with Justin when he was still with Selena (she didn’t), Hailey also addressed *that* viral video that appeared to show her crying at the Met Gala after fans started chanting Selena’s name. Watch footage of fans chanting ‘Selena’ below:

After arriving at last year’s fashion bash, Hailey and her hubby were seen walking the red carpet as fans gathered outside.

As Hailey and Justin posed for photos, the model appeared to wipe her eye as Justin leaned in and seemingly offered words of support.

Hailey’s assistant then handed her a pair of sunglasses, which she put on, leading many to speculate that she was trying to hide the fact she’d been crying.

Well, cue that big wrong answer buzzer sound, because no, Hailey wasn’t crying, she just had something in her eye.

She explained: “Yes, I could hear everyone screaming. And, again, I think there’s a certain part of you that has a numbness. I was, like, really surprised.

“I could kind of hear it but I didn’t know if that’s what was really going on until I saw the video after.”

Hailey went on: “The whole thing of everybody being like: ‘Oh he’s trying to tell her not to cry,’ that was not true. It wasn’t making me cry, although, it’s a very disrespectful thing to do towards anybody.”

The star then confirmed the reason she may have looked tearful was because she ‘felt like [she] had something in [her] eye’.

She also noted that the video was a prime example of how ‘out of context things can be seen’ and said the dark sunglasses were just ‘part of her look’.

“Yeah, I did hear people yelling. It wasn’t making me almost cry. It was disrespectful. To me, to my relationship. It just was. Period. The end,” she reiterated.

Elsewhere in the interview, Hailey also confirmed there was no overlap between her and Justin’s relationship and his and Selena’s, saying: “When he and I ever started hooking up or anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship, ever, at any point.”

She added: “It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship I would just never do that, I was raised better than that. I’m not interested in doing that and I never was.”
