Comedians Cedric The Entertainer and Katt Williams are still beefing about an old joke.

The two have been exchanging words towards one another as Williams recently addressed the topic once again during an interview.

The drama between the jokesters sparked back up following Katt Williams’ appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s talk series Club Shay Shay. During the episode, dropped earlier today (January 3rd), an inevitable discussion about the “Friday” star’s frustrations with his colleague Cedric The Entertainer came up and Williams did not filter any of his thoughts about the topic. The comic once again explained that when he was an up-and-coming comedian, he allegedly got ripped off by Cedric, who was more of a vet at the time. Williams first made the accusations public back in 2021.

Explaining what happened once again to Sharpe, the entertainer stated:

“He thought that I was just a no-name comedian, and that he could take this joke and nobody would know. The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well… that they made it part of the commercial.”

He added:

“This is not just a random joke, this is my best joke…it’s my closing joke. 1998, I’m doing this joke…Cedric comes to The Comedy Store, he watches me in the audience, he comes backstage, he tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on The [Original] Kings Of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he just changed my car into a spaceship.”

According to Williams, he eventually confronted Cedric and fellow comic Steve Harvey about having his joke taken for the showcase and received apologies from them both. However, after the 52-year-old publicly discussed the story a few years back, Cedric denied the allegations. The “Johnson Family Vacation” star previously stated:

“That joke is over 30 years old, close to 30 something years old. I did The [Original] Kings of Comedy in 1999, probably had been doing that joke six-seven years before that. I don’t even know if Katt was doing comedy then…So again, he a talented brother. I have no idea what he talking about. I’ve never seen Katt do a space shuttle joke.”

The 59-year-old additionally denied the claims once again during his own appearance on Sharpe’s podcast last year. His efforts to distance himself from the allegation prompted Williams to state that hearing him continue to deny the truth made him want to “bust Cedric’s stomach.” He also unleashed a round of insults, adding:

“He over here looking like a walrus…can’t even get his arms off his stomach…Remember when Cedric The Entertainer starts he’s supposed to be singing, dancing, and telling jokes that’s why he’s called Cedric The Entertainer. We found out he can’t sing, can’t dance, and doesn’t write jokes…He did four comedy specials. They’re so bad, Shannon, they’re not on Netflix or TUBI.”

Following the interview, Cedric seemingly gave his last piece about the topic. He once again responded to Williams‘ accusation, writing:

“Revisionist History, regardless of whatever Katts opinion My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his. I been over 40 movies, my specials and brand speaks volumes for I am. The ppl I have put on including “Katt in the Hat”. At the Gibson Amphitheater”

Adding:

“And all that tough talk! Is corny af I’m grown a** man. And none of that sh*t gonna go like you think. You do you and I got this over here..”
