The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia, the monster hunter also known as the White Wolf, inexplicably takes up an unexpected sport, soccer, in new AI art.

The Witcher‘s Geralt of Rivia unexpectedly takes up soccer in new AI art. The legendary monster hunter originated in the book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, which has been adapted into the video game series by CD Projekt and a television series by Netflix. For three seasons of The Witcher, the Netflix series has followed Geralt’s adventures across the Continent alongside Yennefer of Vengerberg and Princess Ciri. Henry Cavill has played the lead role for the first three seasons, with Liam Hemsworth set to take over for season 4.

Now, as audiences await his return in The Witcher season 4, some new AI art shared by theperspicaciousathlete on Instagram inexplicably sees Geralt take up an unexpected sport – soccer. Check out the AI art below:

The AI art captures almost every aspect of Geralt’s appearance, including his scar across his eye, leather armor, and long white hair flowing in the wind. But instead of slaying monsters across the Continent, Geralt is unexpectedly dribbling a soccer ball in an open field.

When Will Geralt Return In The Witcher Season 4?

Though Geralt can be seen dribbling a soccer ball on a makeshift pitch above, it’s unclear when the legendary monster hunter will return in the Netflix series. The Witcher season 4 was renewed by Netflix, but with one major casting change. Cavill’s announcement that he would step down as Geralt has caused a lot of speculation and controversy. His successor, Liam Hemsworth, was announced almost immediately and the show will now go on without Cavill while continuing Geralt’s story.

However, it’s unclear when season 4 with Hemsworth will arrive on Netflix. The Witcher season 4 scripts were finished before the start of the WGA strike, though the concurrent SAG-AFTRA strike is preventing production from starting. The Witcher season 3 ending set up the state of affairs for Geralt and the Continent to come in season 4. However, as many film and television productions remain paused due to the dual strikes, it’s unknown when Hemsworth will make his debut as Geralt.
