A breakout star from The White Lotus reveals whether they’d be open to reprising their role in another round of the Emmy-winning HBO dramedy.

The White Lotus star Alexandra Daddario addresses a possible return in season 3. Daddario played Rachel Patton in the HBO show’s first installment, introduced as one of the more sympathetic characters in the Mike White-created dramedy. Rachel feels trapped in a marriage with a man that she may not love. However, by the end of The White Lotus season 1, the struggling journalist chooses the comfort and relative safety of being rich over making a drastic change.

In an interview with InStyle, Daddario talks about possibly reprising the role of Rachel in The White Lotus season 3. Daddario, who has since led the supernatural drama series Mayfair Witches, says she’s always open to returning to the HBO hit in the future depending on the idea. In the quote below, Daddario also expresses excitement for the upcoming episodes:
I love working with Mike [White]. I’d always go back if it made sense and he had a good idea. I just want to see what he has in store. He’s such a genius and everything is so wild and you never know what to expect. I just want to see more of the same.

Alexandra Daddario Could Return To The White Lotus, But Not Yet

It’s been announced that The White Lotus season 3 will be filmed in Thailand. The story has been teased as “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality,” reportedly taking place at a wellness spa. And though White has generally sidestepped sharing further details, he has mentioned that the upcoming episodes will be longer, bigger, and wilder. The new season will be released sometime in 2025.

The only known casting regarding The White Lotus season 3, at this time, is that Natasha Rothwell will reprise her season 1 role of Belinda. The character has a storyline with Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) that ends poorly, as Belinda gets burned by Tanya’s false promises. However, she also has a few scenes with Daddario’s character, drawing a connective and thematic line between Rachel and Tanya.

White has teased an all-star installment of The White Lotus in the past, bringing back notable characters from each season and having them square off. Perhaps they’d have to answer for why murders keep happening in and around the titular resort. However, it’s too early for that to happen. Maybe in a few more seasons, the HBO hit can indulge in some dream crossovers between seasons.
