Until now, something was missing in the New York Yankees. Their facility was filled with stars and the team was in a good place, but one player was oddly not present.

It was Juan Soto – the star who is the center of attraction in the Yankees clubhouse this season. While most of the team had joined earlier, Soto decided to wait till the end. But finally, the Childish Bambino has made his way to Tampa and the fans are about to witness a scene they’ve been clamoring for since December.

Soto wearing the Pinstripes is a picture that every fan wants to see. But even more, the Yankees Faithful wants to see him stand on the plate and hit the ball. After months of waiting, that wish is finally coming true.

“Generational” Juan Soto enters Tampa as a king

An image of Soto went viral when he entered the Yankees facility yesterday. It was the superstar wearing a t-shirt that said “The Generational Juan Soto”.

While it was a tongue-in-cheek reference to how fans address the slugger, there was some truth to it. By all accounts, Soto is a generational talent and now the Pinstripes are about to witness his talents in the training ground.

The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner reported a few hours back that Soto will have his first “live batting practice as a Yankee this afternoon”. After months of waiting, the day is finally here – Soto hitting baseballs as a Yankee. But clearly, this is just the beginning. There are much bigger goals in the mind of La Fiera.

Right after joining the Yankees facility, Soto declared what he was aiming for as a Yankee – ‘winning’! He also shared his excitement to play in the Pinstripes “The talent, the organization we are, it’s amazing. It’s incredible. And we’re more than excited about this season…It’s going to be really fun.”– via MLB.com.

Soto isn’t alone in feeling like that. The entire Yankees staff is delighted to have him onboard. Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton have had some great words for the 25-year-old.

The Childish Bambino has already won the hearts of the Bronx Bombers

The Cy Young winner Gerrit Cole was relieved that he won’t have to pitch against Soto anymore. “He’s just a magnificent hitter, really,” said Cole. “The best feel for the strike zone that I’ve ever come across.

Man, is he going to be tough to deal with.” The ace called him like a combination of “Create-a-Player statistics and attributes” on the plate in a press conference last Thursday.

On the other hand, Stanton was awed at the thought of seeing Aaron Judge and Soto together. “Seeing him and Judge tear apart the league is going to be awesome,” Stanton then called them elites of the league.

So as it stands, Soto has taken to the Yankees like fish takes to water. The journey is just getting started.
