Jason Momoa showed off his new haircut on Friday while taking care of business in Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old Dune actor shared on social media earlier this week that he was shaving off part of his hair to raise awareness about pollution from single-use plastics.

His outing on Friday revealed that the haircut was relatively modest, though the sides of his head were newly shaved.

The rest of Jason’s dark hair was swept back, and it still reached down to his back.

However, his Instagram video indicated that he had also cut off a long set of slim braids, leaving him with a more streamlined look.

He was dressed casually and comfortably for his day in the city, which is in the final day of an extended heat wave, with a white T-shirt with triangular patterns on the back.

He also had on a set of low-key charcoal shorts, which he wore with beige flip flops.

Jason was seen as he exited a black Cadillac Escalade.

The actor is set to appear as a villain in the upcoming Fast & Furious sequel Fast X, and he described the production to Variety as the ‘Time of my life.’

It’s unclear if he is still filming the project, or if his haircut signals that he has finished his work on the film.

His costars John Cena and Scott Eastwood were previously seen filming the action movie late last month.

While gushing about his upcoming role, the actor told Variety that his character is ‘very sadistic and androgynous,’ adding, ‘He’s definitely got some daddy issues.’

On Monday, the Aquaman star shared a clip to Instagram in which his trademark long locks were shorn.

‘Aloha, everyone,’ he began before breaking into a laugh. ‘Hand me those braids.’

A hand from offscreen gave him a couple short braids which were already cut off by the person styling his hair.

He then explained he made the decision to shave his head to raise awareness for how many single-use plastics are used and thrown away.

‘I’m tired of these plastics bottles. We got to stop [using] plastic forks. All that s***,’ the See star ranted. ‘It goes into our land, into our ocean.’

He continued,’It’s just so sad, so please anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastic in your lives, help me.’

Momoa encouraged people to switch over to canteens and other reusable water bottles rather than plastic water bottles.

The Game of Thrones star captioned the clip, ‘heres to new beginnings let’s spread the aloha. be better at protecting our land and oceans. we need to cut single use plastics out of our lives and out of our seas. plastic bottles, plastic bags ,packaging, utensils all of it. let’s aloha our ‘āina together aloha j. @mananalu.water.’

Momoa’s call to action came just a couple weeks after the third and final season of his hit show See premiered on AppleTV+.

See follows a blind tribe in a dystopian future that believe two of its youngest members have the ability to see.

Momoa stars Baba Voss, a warrior who leads the tribe. Alfre Woodard, Sylvia Hoeks and Dave Bautista have also starred in the show.

The Hawaii native has a number of films coming soon including Slumberland and The Last Manhunt. The former is set for release later this yer.

Momoa is currently hard at work filming his part in the action-adventure movie Fast X.
