Jennifer Lopez, her husband, Ben Affleck, and his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, were seen out together with their children this month in a very rare sighting.

Behind the scenes though, the relationship between the three co-parents has been good for a while, a source told Us Weekly. “Jennifer, Jen and Ben have had a great relationship for quite some time now,” the source said.

“They know there are going to be plenty of times they’ll all be attending the same events together, whether that’s school performances, sports, etc.”

Garner and Affleck have three children together, 18-year-old Violet, 15-year-old Seraphina, and 11-year-old Samuel. Lopez shares 15-year-old twins Emme and Max with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony.

The three co-parents “communicate rather frequently when it comes to their kids, scheduling plans, etc.,” the source said. “They know the ones who benefit the most are the children and that’s all they care about.

They have a mutual respect for each other as parents and know how well all their kids get along. They want to foster and nurture those relationships and will do whatever it takes to show their support.”

As for Garner and Affleck, “anything that’s happened in the past is water under the bridge,” the source added. “It’s genuinely a copacetic situation all around.”

Garner has moved on from her and Affleck’s divorce, too. The actress has quietly been in a relationship with businessman John Miller for over five years.
