Longtime collaborators Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are back for another film. This time, it is a crime thriller titled Animals, which they will be making for Netflix.

While Damon will star in Animals, Affleck will helm. If the pre-production work goes according to plan, the film is expected to go on floors in Los Angeles in March.

The film was previously titled The Animals of Los Angeles, and then Be Gentlemen, before fixing upon Animals. The film is written by Connor McIntyre, with Billy Ray carrying out revisions.

The crime thriller revolves around a mayoral candidate and his wife whose son is abducted. The couple is forced to get their hands dirty to save their son as they’re surrounded by enemies, both political and otherwise.

Animals will be backed by Affleck and Damon under their Artists Equity banner, along with Dani Bernfeld. Brad Weston and Collin Creighton are also producing the film under the MakeReady banner.

Longtime collaborators and best friends, Affleck and Damon last worked on Air, the story of how the fortune of shoemaker Nike was changed when they signed a young Michael Jordan. Their production house, Artists Equity, was launched recently.
