Caitlin Clark has paid tribute to Indiana Fever team-mate Lexie Hull as she returned to training during the off-season.
The 25-year-old is leading by example during the off-season break as she returned to Fever training less than two months after Indiana were defeated in the Play-offs and a whole six months before the WNBA is expected to resume in May 2025.
An Instagram post from the Fever’s official page proudly showed Hull wearing the team’s training gear back in action most notably practicing her free throw form shooting and the Mikan drill. The post that was captioned: “back in the lab,” was reacted to by Clark who showed her appreciation for her team-mate’s commitment to improving during the off-season.
Clark left a three-word message in the comments section, which read: “She’s inspiring … truly”. The comment is the most liked on the post as Fever fans reacted with excitement regarding the effort the 6th overall pick in the 2022 draft is putting in.
During the 2024 WNBA season, Clark and Hull played a pivotal role for the Fever as they helped the team end an eight-year playoff drought while enjoying career-best and record-breaking years. Clark showed her incredible playmaking skills, leading the league in assists with 8.4 per game and setting record points and assist tallies for rookies.

Meanwhile, Hull emerged as a sharpshooting force, finishing second in the league in three-point accuracy with a brilliant 47.1 percent conversion rate from beyond the arc. The 25-year-old finished the season averaging 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game as she set career highs in points, field goal percentage and three-point percentage.
Hull recently lauded Clark for allowing her to put up such numbers as the former Iowa star’s court vision and precise timing and execution of her passes allowed Hull the opportunity to capitalize on scoring openings. Speaking on ‘The Young Man and The Three’ podcast, Hull praised Clark’s playmaking and ability to create chances for her team-mates.
“I definitely got passes and tried to finish when I wasn’t expecting to get the ball,” Hull said. “So now it’s like, okay, every cut I have, every cut I make, every fast break I run, like, I have a real opportunity to get the ball, which definitely, like, took me a second.
“And I think it really just took one of those to really get my head around, like, ‘Oh, she’s all the way down at the other end of the floor, and she could still make the pass to me down at the block at this end.'”
However, unlike Clark, Hull will be in action during the inaugural season of the 3×3 Unrivaled basketball league which is scheduled to tip off in January 2024. Clark is not yet confirmed to have signed up to the new league launched by WNBA icons Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.
