Tom Brady wants FOX NFL’s Michael Strahan ‘taken care of’ for laughing at his hurt heart

Tom Brady is a man who has experienced many different triumphs in his life, but there is one disappointment the New England Patriots star is still hurt by

Tom Brady cheekily suggested Michael Strahan needed “taking care of” during his unusual appearance on FOX Sports’ NFL Sunday.

The former New England Patriots star made a virtual guest appearance to chat and answer questions alongside Strahan and Rob Gronkowski. The trio shared laughs over their careers and the upcoming NFL games. Brady was quizzed by Strahan about the Kansas City Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills match.

Despite their efforts, Buffalo has a poor record against the Chiefs in recent years. When Strahan analysed the game, he took an opportunity to remind Brady of the time his New York Giants overcame the NFL legend’s New England Patriots at Super Bowl XLII, which is still regarded as one of the biggest upsets of all time. Predictably, Brady was not completely amused by the situation

Strahan brought his iconic victory into the conversation by probing into how the Bills players might shake off their dismal track record, similar to how the Giants triumphed over Brady’s Patriots. Realising what Strahan had done, Brady replied: “That hurts my heart man”.

Gronkowski chimed in, asking if Brady wanted him to tackle Strahan for him. With a wry smile, Brady said: “Take care of him, Gronky.”

After the trio stopped chuckling, Brady explained that the Bills’ lack of confidence is no laughing matter. After describing their uneasiness as “mental scar tissue,” Brady said: “The Bills have had their success but it’s hard to get over the hump with the Chiefs, they’ve got that championship DNA and that’s what the Bills need.

“They haven’t found the way in the big moments, certainly in the playoffs, to make that statement type win and that’s why the Chiefs always have a big advantage over them.”

Strahan’s presence may still irk many NFL viewers, after he unintentionally offended many by not placing his hand over his heart when the US national anthem was played on Veterans Day. He is still being accused of disrespecting military personnel by fans who have targeted him.

He recently issued an apology to those who were upset at, what they felt, was a lack of patriotism. The former defensive end said in a video on social media: “I feel like I need to address it because it spilled over to the point where I get out of my car today and I’m ambushed by a media outlet here at my house.

“I’m not proud of the way I handled that whole situation, but I think anybody out there can understand the things you’re gonna do- you’re gonna protect your family and protect your home which is what I felt like I needed to do in that moment. I didn’t have my hand over my chest. Everyone thought, ‘He’s protesting, he’s making a statement’ – which is so far from the truth. I have nothing to protest. I have no statement to be made.

“The only statement that should be made and I want to make is: I love the military. I’ve always loved the military, and I always love the military. I do so many programs to help veterans and soldiers. I grew up on a military base with a father who’s a major in the army, my brother, my sister, my cousins – they all served in the military.

“I’m a military brat, and so the fact that someone says that I’m unpatriotic couldn’t be any further from the truth and if you want the truth, I’ll you the truth. I was caught up in the moment!

I’m looking at all these young sailors standing there, at attention before the national anthem played and I’m thinking to myself, ‘How incredible to be that young and to know you want to do this. It’s such a commitment that you’re willing to commit to something that you know gives us our freedoms. Plain and simple’.

“I’m just sitting there in amazement. I’m always amazed, because I don’t take it for granted no matter where we go around the world – Afghanistan and all the military institutions here in this country.

“And by the time I looked up from that moment, all my five guys had their hands over their hearts, the national anthem’s playing, and I somewhat panicked – do I be the fool that puts his hand over his heart after, or do I just stand with my hands in front of me respectfully? That’s what I did. That’s what happened.”
