After being selected No. 1 in the 2024 WNBA draft, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark went on to win awards and set records like none other in her first professional season.

Among those were the WNBA Rookie of the Year award and the league record for most assists in a single season.

Clark took to social media on Wednesday night to share her gratitude for all of the support she’s received in Year 1 of her WNBA career.

“Year one ✅ — thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream,” Clark wrote. “I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life.
See you all in year two 🖤💫.”

Another rookie, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, also took the league by storm. While Reese and Clark deny having a rivalry with each other, fans create a wave of buzz every time they face each other.

Reese earned the nickname “Bayou Barbie” during her college days at LSU, thanks to her off-court fashion sense.

The nickname has stuck, and she has embraced it. Reese even describes herself as a “Barbie” on social media.

Given Reese’s nickname, fans found it quite interesting that the Barbie Instagram account commented on Clark’s post.

“Inspiring a new generation to dream big & love the game!👑🏀,” it wrote.

Here’s what some fans had to say about it:

“Lmfao the OG #Barbie gives love to the #ROTY over the self-proclaimed Barbie,” one fan said. “No hate just saying.”

“CC really just snatched that other persons whole gimmick, without trying😭,” another added.

“I wonder how the OTHER Barbie feels about this… 😂,” said a fan.

“Took Reese’s flow without trying,” added another.

“Barbie😭,” a fan stated.

“A meltdown is coming 🤣🤣🤣,” another said.

“LMAO. Not Barbie😭,” added a fan.

In 2024, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game. Meanwhile, Reese averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
