Two England stars slammed after draw vs Slovenia, fans never want to see them in the team again

England were in action against Slovenia in Cologne.

Fans have made their feelings clear on two England players after the Three Lions’ dismal draw against Slovenia.

On Tuesday night, England arrived at the RheinEnergieSTADION knowing a victory would be enough to seal their place in the round of 16 as Group C winners.

However, Gareth Southgate’s men produced another below-par performance as they failed to break down a stubborn Slovenia team.

At the start of the second half, Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo was brought on as England looked for the go-ahead goal.

Eventually, the match ended in a dreadful 0-0 draw and England were confirmed as group winners thanks to Denmark and Serbia also sharing the points.

During the match, England fans slammed Southgate’s decision to start Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher and Newcastle United full-back Kieran Trippier.

One fan said on social media: “Gallagher was never the answer. awful first half again, 10 mins deep into second half and we look a lot better with the right players in their position. Mainoo or Wharton would have improved this side.

Another tweeted: “Mainoo is instant impact. Gallagher should’ve never started over him.”

A third fan added: “Trippier is terribly average but he must do something behind closed doors that makes him one of Southgate’s favourites. At best he should be 3rd choice RB.”

Someone else wrote: “I’d have replaced Trippier with Gomez: Trippier coming inside all the time means Foden gets no space, plus Gomez has played half the season there for Liverpool.”

A fifth commented: “Trippier is absolutely clueless at left back we have absolutely nothing at all.”

Another fan said: “I just want Gallagher gone, let him be someone else’s problem.”

Speaking during the half-time interval, former England goalkeeper Joe Hart said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “It all felt a little clunky from England, especially down the left hand side.

“Jude Bellingham has been coming across and into that left back position in the final third, to combine with Phil Foden, but that leaves Kieran Trippier unsure of when to go, when not to go. You can see Foden is trying to make an impact but no one seems to be on his wavelength.”
