The Kansas City Chiefs kept their winning streak alive on Sunday by marking a huge victory against one of the biggest threats to their title defense this season. This came in the form of a 28-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in what was a highly-anticipated rematch of the Super Bowl LVIII.

The Chiefs were coming off a bye week, and two-time All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes did not have the best of games in this one. The 29-year-old completed 16-of-27 passes for 154 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Mahomes also logged 39 rushing yards on five carries, which included one clutch TD early in the fourth quarter.

It was far from a stellar performance from the reigning Super Bowl MVP, but the important thing is that the Chiefs still secured a win. This was exactly the message Mahomes had as he took to Instagram after Sunday’s big victory.

“W.” Mahomes captioned his photo along with a clock emoji.

The Niners put up a formidable challenge in this one, but ultimately, it just wasn’t enough against the mighty Chiefs. Mahomes and Co. are now 6-0 after defeating the 49ers on their own home field.

The Chiefs will be back in action on Sunday for another road game against the Las Vegas Raiders at the Allegiant Stadium.
