Fans are destroying Angel Reese following her reaction to Caitlin Clark winning the coveted Rookie of the Year award.
Clark was unsurprisingly named the 2024 WNBA Kia Rookie of the Year this Thursday, coming out on top of her duel against Reese, who was also in the running before a wrist injury prematurely ended her rookie season.
The Indiana Fever guard broke multiple records this season. She averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds a game in her first professional campaign, becoming the first rookie to register two triple-doubles in the WNBA. She also recorded the most points and assists by a rookie in league history, along with several other honors.

Reese lost ground in the race before she was injured as Caitlin played out of her mind in August and September, but the ordeal basically sealed the deal for the former Iowa star.
Both players insisted they did not care about potentially winning the ROY award on several occasions, but fans noticed that Reese did not congratulate Clark after she won it.
She instead took to social media to promote the latest episode of her podcast.
“NEW EPISODE OUT NOW!! WE DROPPED SOME GEMS,” Reese tweeted.

She probably wasn’t lying, given that NBA legend Dwyane Wade was her latest guest, but fans still flamed her in the comments.
“You are soooo jealous and ugly. Sad to be you,” someone wrote.
You lost rookie of the year but you’re tweeting this,” another said.
“1 vote 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,” a comment read.
“You’re not gonna congratulate your fellow mate for rookie of the year,” someone asked.
“Who honestly gives a s**t,” said another.
“Make sure you shout out the ROTY,” a user added.
Year one ✅ — thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream. I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life.
See you all in year two 🖤💫 pic.twitter.com/SzdPuNVZNp— Caitlin Clark (@CaitlinClark22) October 3, 2024
Can We Be Sure Angel Reese Didn’t Congratulate Caitlin Clark?
While Angel Reese failed to give Caitlin Clark a shoutout via social media, we don’t know whether she did so privately.
It’s actually pretty likely.
Reese previously downplayed the rivalry with Clark, claiming that there’s actually no beef between the two of them. But fans will be dying to know whether congratulations were offered behind the scenes or whether the new ROY was snubbed altogether.
