Tribeca TV Festival Adds Oprah Winfrey, Trevor Noah LineupThe inaugural Tribeca TV Festival is expanding its lineup to include the New York premiere of OWN’s Released followed by a conversation with the creators and executive producer Oprah Winfrey, and a talk with host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah, among others, the festival announced Wednesday.

Released is a docuseries that chronicles formerly incarcerated men and women restarting their lives. The first episode of the show will screen at the fest, followed by the talk with Winfrey and the series creators for an in-depth conversation about the docuseries and the nationwide issue of mass incarceration.

Noah will be joined in his talk, which is slated to discuss the role comedians play in today’s political landscape, by fellow Daily Show writers.

Other new additions to the fest, which is presented by AT&T and counts The Hollywood Reporter as one of its media partners, also include the world premieres of Blackpills’ sex comedy web-series Pillow Talk, as well as YouTube Red’s screwball cop comedy Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television from director Rawson Marshall Thurber.

The festival previously announced an exclusive cast and creators reunion and celebration of NBC’s Will & Grace ahead of its reboot this fall, and series premieres of At Home with Amy Sedaris (truTV), Liar (SundanceTV) and Ten Days in the Valley (ABC). Fox’s Designated Survivor and Red Oaks from Amazon, and sneak peeks of upcoming episodes of Better Things (FX) and Gotham (FOX), will also debut at the fest.

The inaugural event, created by Tribeca Enterprises, the company behind the Tribeca Film Festival, is the first dedicated TV fest created by a film festival. Tickets for the new additions are on sale now, and a full list of programming can be found at the festival’s site.
