Caitlin Clark immediately gets new ‘Unrivaled’ incentive after league opens door for U-turn
Caitlin Clark is yet to commit to Unrivaled, the 3×3 women’s basketball league launched by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart set to debut in January ahead of the 2025 WNBA season
WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever teammate Aliyah Boston has joined Lexie Hull in signing up for the new women’s basketball league Unrivaled.
Boston will play in Unrivaled, the new 3×3 league set to be on stage in Miami that was co-founded by WNBA All-Stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. She became the second Fever player in as many days to join the upstart league after Hull’s inclusion was announced on Wednesday.
The player pool will be divided into six teams with players competing on a compressed full-size court. Boston took to social media to confirm her involvement in Unrivaled, writing: “MIAMIIII LETS GET IT. so excited !!!!” and “Had to double down BOW BOW BOW!!”

The addition of the Fever duo means Clark could be tempted to take part. During the WNBA playoffs, Clark previously told ESPN she would not be participating in any offseason basketball in order to focus on having time to herself in the offseason after a full year of being in the spotlight.
“It’s gonna be nice, I think,” Clark said. “Getting out of the spotlight and just getting to live my life and do things that I want to do.”
According to Front Office Sports, Unrivaled has reportedly given a ‘Messi-like offer’ to Clark, suggesting the package is comparable to the blockbuster offer Inter Miami made to Lionel Messi to bring the World Cup champion to MLS. Messi reportedly received a mega compensation package that includes a share of Apple TV’s revenue generated by MLS Season Pass as well as a share of Adidas profits from his arrival in MLS.

Caitlin Clark could join Aliyah Boston in Unrivaled as she ponders a mega deal with the league
As well as the lucrative offer, several of Clark’s closest friends in the WNBA – including Hull and the Las Vegas Aces’ Kate Martin – have recently been announced as players in the league. Perhaps the All-Star will change her mind, and Unrivaled recently expanded to 36 players so the league has six more slots to announce before it begins in January.
Clark and Unrivaled have held discussions on a possible deal which features significant upside for the WNBA standout. Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell recently addressed the rumors over Clark, telling Sportico: “We’re always going to have a roster spot for Caitlin Clark. We’re not applying a full court press the way people think…. She knows that we have a spot for her when she’s ready.”
Clark will certainly still have plenty to do in the offseason. The 22-year-old is participating in a charity pro-am with LPGA golfer and fellow Gainbridge ambassador Annika Sorenstam in December, and will likely have more appearances and events with other sponsors.
