Caitlin Clark believes she’s given special treatment by WNBA officials after Fever suffer loss to Aces
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark believes she’s been given special treatment by WNBA officials after suffering a 86-75 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night.
Clark is the main facilitator of the Fever’s offense, meaning she has the chance to touch the ball more than any other Indiana player.
That also comes along with drawing more contact from opposing players.
One such instance saw Clark visibly upset with officials after being called for an offensive foul where she burst past Aces’ guard Jackie Young and made a lay-up, only for the play to be called off for Clark making inadvertent minor contact with Young’s face.
Clark did say the aggressive nature of the Aces ‘worked’ so she is expecting more of it the rest of the season.

Clark spoke about her unique skill set that sometimes can lead to those being whistled
‘The offensive fouls are definitely surprising at times,’ Clark said after the loss. ‘I feel like I do get held and get quite a bit of contact throughout the games and you get hit with some of those when you take some contact and get contact back. It is what it is.’
Clark did say the one way she can quickly combat the physicality from other players is to use her quickness more.
The reigning WNBA Finals MVP, A’ja Wilson, also broke the single-season scoring record with her 940th and 941st points on a jumper right before halftime. The milestone comes after Wilson missed her first game since 2019 on Sunday with an ankle injury.
Las Vegas dropped the game to the New York Liberty in thrilling fashion but came back swinging against Indiana.
Wilson’s feat broke the previous record set by Jewell Lloyd in 2023 with 939 points. Wilson shined Wednesday with a 27-point, 12-rebound performance.
Chelsea Gray trailed behind her – among starters – with 11 points. Meanwhile, Alysha Clark and Tiffany Hayes came off the bench with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
On the other hand, Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever’s efforts with 24 points, followed by Clark’s 15 points and six assists. Despite a low-scoring game, Aliyah Boston trailed Wilson in boards with 10.
The win moves Las Vegas to a 23-13 record as they sit fourth in the league standings and second in the Western Conference. On the other hand, the sixth-seeded Fever moved to 19-18.
Indiana has three more games while Las Vegas has four. The teams will meet again on Friday in their final regular season showdown.
