Caitlin Clark doesn’t hide her colors. The Indiana Fever star guard has been a Kansas City Chiefs fan since she was young and takes every opportunity to show her support, as she did after the team’s Week 10 victory over the Denver Broncos.Clark’s love for the Chiefs runs in the family. In a recent conversation with Peyton and Eli Manning on the “Manningcast,” Clark shared that her entire family cheers for Kansas City. With some embarrassment, she admitted that there’s even a childhood photo of her in full Chiefs gear.

Just over a month ago, the WNBA Rookie of the Year teased her former Iowa teammate, Gabbie Marshall, who is a Cincinnati Bengals fan. After Marshall posted a photo cheering on her team, Clark cleverly replied, captioning the photo “spirit animal @gabbie.marshall. Go Chiefs.”

Clark’s victory cry

The Chiefs-Broncos matchup was a nail-biter, ending in a hard-fought 16-14 Kansas City win. The Chiefs took a narrow lead with a field goal midway through the fourth quarter. However, Denver fought to the end, and the game was decided when Kansas City blocked a last-second field goal attempt by Will Lutz.

Clark’s love for the Chiefs isn’t a one-way street. Since the star guard joined the WNBA, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, have been following the league more closely. In late October, reports leaked that the Mahomes were in talks with the WNBA about potentially acquiring an expansion team in Kansas City.

Already co-owners of the KC Current in the National Women’s Soccer League, the Mahomes might just be bringing their influence-and Clark’s passion-straight to the WNBA.
