10 Things you may not know about Trevor Noah

We all know Trevor Noah as a South African comedian who recently landed a hosting job on Comedy Central’s, The Daily Show but did you know that…

1. Trevor was born 20 February 1984

2. He is a writer, producer, DJ, television host, actor, media critic, and comedian

3. Noah’s mother, Patricia Noah, is a black South African (Xhosa), and his father Robert Noah, is white (of Swiss-German descent).

4. Trevor is a polyglot; he speaks several languages including English, German, Xhosa, isiZulu, Sotho and Afrikaans.

5. Noah had a major role on the South African soap opera Isidingo in 2002.

6. He  hosted his own radio show, Noah’s Ark, on Gauteng’s leading youth radio station, YFM.

7. Noah then went on to host an educational program ‘Run The Adventure’ from 2004–06 on SABC2 and ‘Siyadlala’ a SABC sports show.

8. In 2008 Noah co-hosted alongside Pabi Moloi on ‘The Amazing Date’.

9. Not only is he funny but proved he had the moves when he competed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in season 4.

10. Trevor is dating Cape Town-based physiotherapist Dani Gabriel. She joined Trevor on part of his US tour late last year.
