Whoopi Goldberg made a self-deprecating joke about her three failed marriages, saying she hasn’t been able to “get it right.”
Goldberg said the dig while discussing relationships in the public eye on Tuesday’s episode of “The View” with co-host Sunny Hostin and guest co-hosts Abby Huntsman and Rachel Lindsay.
Lindsay –– who is in the midst of a tumultuous divorce from her “Bachelorette” winner Bryan Abasolo –– admitted that she felt “public pressure to always let people know that everything’s great, even though behind closed doors, that might not be the case.”

Goldberg, 69, applauded Lindsay for sharing her story, while also reminding the former “Bachelorette” star of her own exes.
“I’ve been married 100 times!” Goldberg quipped. “And, I could never get it right, so congratulations!”
The “Sister Act” actress pointed out that Lindsay still “got it right for four years,” and that’s more than some people.

“Some get it right for 26 years,” Goldberg continued, referring to Hostin’s marriage. “And some people don’t get it right the first or second or even the third time.”
“It’s not for everybody, so before you kick your own butt, remember marriage is not a monolith and you never know,” she concluded.
Goldberg married her first husband, Alvin Martin, in 1973 when she was just 18 years old. They welcomed a daughter, Alexandrea, in 1974 but divorced in 1979.

The EGOT winner married her second husband, David Claessen, in 1986, but they split two years later. Finally, she wed actor Lyle Trachtenberg in 1994, but they divorced one year later.
Goldberg has since poked fun at her failed marriages and expressed her disinterest in getting married again.
“Some people are not meant to be married and I am not meant to. I’m sure it is wonderful for lots of people,” she said in a 2011 interview with Piers Morgan.

“I suppose that you know, you have to actually be in love with the person that you marry. You have to really be committed to them. And I don’t have that commitment,” she continued.
The “Color Purple” actress reflected on her marriages and admitted that she only tied the knot because she “wanted to feel normal.”
“It seemed to me that if I was married, I’d have a much normal — more normal life,” she explained. “But clearly, that’s not the case. There’s not a good reason to get married. You have to actually want a life with someone through ups and downs. I just discovered that wasn’t for me.”
