Even gold-medal-winning gymnasts don’t stick the landing every time. Simone Biles can attest to that.

The star gymnast, who is currently competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, shared a getting-ready video on TikTok on Aug. 2 (that she filmed on Aug. 1 before she casually went on to win a gold medal in the all-around competition).

Not only did she go through her makeup routine and show off exactly what she wears to be competition-ready, but she also spilled some tea about a recent act of self-care that went awry.

“I have a funny story for you guys,” she started. “So, for my 27th birthday, I got Botox, like, baby Botox, just right here in my T-zone, and I did not like it. So I haven’t got it again, and mind you that was back in March.”

She went on to explain how one eyebrow would lift on its own occasionally while she was at practice — and other gymnasts would point it out to her — but she couldn’t get it to go back down for nearly 20 seconds at a time.

“It would randomly do that!” she recalled, before demonstrating that now she can do “all the facial [expressions],” pointedly crinkling her forehead.

“Not doing that again,” she declared of the cosmetic procedure.

Biles also revealed that she may or may not get another tattoo after this year’s games. She currently has a few, including the Olympic rings, but she said she might get something as an “ode to Paris.”

“I’m not sure,” she mused as she continued to apply her makeup.

Biles also shared in her TikTok that she was “really nervous” headed into the day, but going to therapy that morning made her feel a little bit better. She later shared a photo to Instagram the morning of Aug. 2 with the caption, “mental health matters.”

After speaking openly about how her mental health suffered during the 2020 Tokyo Games, when she was forced to withdraw from the team final and all-around competition due to the “twisties,” Biles has openly prioritized her mental health first in her gymnastics training, and it’s led her back to two golds (so far) at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
