Following her recent awarding as one of the inaugural honorees of the Billboard Women in Music Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards in Los Angeles, California, Sarah Geronimo joins this week’s special episode of Billboard Philippines Volumes to talk about her reaction when she found out that Billboard Philippines chose her to be the honoree, taking inspiration from Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, experimenting with genres, and her love for UNIQLO.
“Si Boss Vic [del Rosario, founder of Viva] [ang nagsabi sa’kin]…pero ang nag–reiterate sa’kin at nag-explain sa’kin nang husto ay yung asawa ko (Boss Vic was the one who told me…but the who reiterated and explained it to me in depth was my husband),” the pop royal reveals, referring to her husband and actor Matteo Guidicelli. “Sobra akong hindi makapaniwala…because I feel like andami ko pang kailangan i-improve sa sarili ko as an artist. Few lang yung mga moments that I really felt that I did a good job.”
(I couldn’t believe it…because I feel like I have so much to improve as an artist. There are only a few moments that I really felt that I did a good job.)
While some may find it unbelievable, it’s no secret that her perfectionism and attention to detail has proven that she deserves all the recognition she gets. In her 20-year-long career, she’s done everything from acting, dancing, singing, performing — the whole works. She takes point especially from the one and only Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who she calls as one of her biggest inspirations as an artist and as a careerwoman. And with such a busy schedule, she turns to one of her favorite fashion brands, UNIQLO, to keep her comfortable everyday.
“We all love UNIQLO! Super love ko yung UNIQLO. Perfect LifeWear siya sa’kin (for me),” she exclaims. “One of my favorite pieces is the UNIQLO Bra Top. Ang galing (It’s great) because meron na siyang (it already has a) built-in cup, so I can move comfortably and confidently lalo na pag nagrerehearse ako (especially when I rehearse). Another is the Airism Active Bra Sleeveless Top. It’s what I usually wear when I do dance rehearsals, or when I work out…very comfortable akong gumalaw (I can move comfortably) and I feel free.”
With such a diverse set of styles and sizes, UNIQLO’s LifeWear items are perfect for supporting women in their day to day routines by making sure that all women can do what they need to do comfortably and freely, just like Sarah Geronimo.
