The 2024 WNBA season is winding down as the New York Liberty hold a 2-1 lead over the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Finals with a potential title-clinching Game 4 coming up on Friday, Oct. 18.

But in the offseason, WNBA fans will still be able to get their fill of women’s basketball with the inaugural 3-on-3 Unrivaled season starting in Jan. 2025. Founded by Breanna Stewart of the Liberty and Napheesa Collier of the Lynx, the new league will have 30 players from the WNBA. It will also have the highest average salaries in women’s sports history.

Many notable names have already signed up for the league, including a few rookies such as Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese and Los Angeles Sparks forward Rickea Jackson.

But what about Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark?

The rookie out of Iowa would be a huge addition to the league, given the amount of money she has brought to the WNBA with an increase in attendance and viewership. She would also add entertainment value on the court.

In a recent episode of “Run It Back on FanDuel TV,” Collier joined the show for an interview and discussed the possibility of Clark joining Unrivaled.

“I think we might have a couple more rookies in there,” Collier said. “That might be a hint… The growth that Caitlin has brought to the game. The sheer amount of money that she’s making these teams. People are having to move their venues for when she comes to play, and she’s getting paid like $75,000 a year.”

Collier then went on to discuss how Unrivaled wants to be a part of the change Clark has helped bring to the WNBA.

“Definitely, we want to be part of that change…. I think she should be one of the top players in the world just for the sheer numbers that she’s bringing.”

The new Unrivaled league will take place in Miami, Florida. It will consist of six teams with eight weeks of total play, including playoffs for the four squads with the best record at the end of the regular season.

Along with receiving high annual salaries, each of the 30 players to join in the first season will receive equity ownership. Unrivaled also recently announced a multiyear media rights agreement with TNT. Games will also be available to watch on Max and truTV.
