Darnell Ferguson

A trial date has been set for next year for Darnell “SuperChef” Ferguson.

The jury trial has been set for Feb. 25, 2025.

Ferguson pleaded not guilty earlier this year to several charges connected to the alleged assault of his wife Tatahda in January.

Those charges included burglary, menacing, strangulation and assault, which Tatahda has vehemently denied happened in the incident.

Police said the couple were separated and going through a divorce.

Tatahda released a statement through her attorney in April saying her words were “twisted” by police and that she was working to “clear his name.”

“Darnell is a good man! I have never felt unsafe or threatened by him and he has always been an incredible father to our children. It hurts my heart the way he’s being vilified,” the statement read.

Ferguson is known for his former restaurants “SuperChefs” in the Highlands and the short-lived “Tha Drippin’ Crab” in the Russell neighborhood.

He also appeared on several Food Network including “Superchef Grudge Match” that aired last February.

Ferguson’s trial is expected to last four to five days.
