Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark did not exactly have a mind-blowing WNBA All-Star Game debut earlier this year. While the rookie sensation did dish out a game-high 10 dimes, Clark, the top vote-getter among all the All-Stars this past season, was limited to just four points on 2-of-9 shooting in 26 minutes of action. The Fever guard also missed all seven of her attempts from deep.

It appeared that Team USA had a defensive game plan in place against Clark. It seemed as though the national team was willing to let anybody else beat them except for the former Iowa superstar. It was Arike Ogunbowale who took full advantage of the same as she broke the WNBA All-Star scoring record with 34 points, en route to winning her second All-Star MVP title.

In the end, Team WNBA took home the victory against Team USA, 117-109.

The fans have attempted to read Clark’s lips to try and determine what she had to say to Plum, who, at that point, was applying full-court pressure on Clark during an inbound play.

The above clip has amassed 2.2 million views as of writing, with the majority of fans convinced that Clark was asking Plum, “Why are you pressing?”

For context, the All-Star Game was an exhibition matchup between the top players in the WNBA. For Team USA, it was a tune-up game for their upcoming trip to the Paris Olympics, where they ultimately took home the gold medal after winning the tournament.

For her part, it appears that Clark was questioning Plum about her defensive tactics, given how this was supposed to be nothing more than a pick-up game.

It’s not very often that you see players press full-court during an All-Star Game, which speaks volumes of how much respect Plum and the national team had for Clark’s game.
