The WNBA’s Rookie of the Year award has officially been awarded to Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. While she had a historic season with the Fever, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was also in contention for the award.

After the WNBA announced the winner for ROTY, they also posted the All-Rookie team members. The Sky had two players listed, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso.

While much of the attention was on Clark, the Sky made sure to credit their rookies for their successes in the 2024 season.

The Sky posted a brief message about Reese, who finished second in ROTY voting. The Sky explained that the future looks bright for Reese since she’s already been a dominant player as a rookie.

“New to the league, but already dominating the boards. Congrats to Angel Reese for making the 2024 All-Rookie Team! The future of the league is bright,” the Chicago Sky’s official social media account posted.

Reese joined Rickea Jackson, Leonie Fiebich, Clark and Cardoso on the WNBA All-Rookie team.

In her first season in the league, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Her season was cut short with a handful of games left on the schedule since Reese suffered a wrist injury requiring surgery.

Despite the setback, Reese was named a WNBA All-Star in her first year, and the 6-foot-3 forward led the league in average rebounds while she was active.

While Clark had a phenomenal season, averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game, Reese was also an incredible player for the Sky.

Reese helped Chicago fight to make the WNBA playoffs, but they fell short in the final weeks of the season, ending the year with a 13-27 record, listed as the No. 10 seed in the WNBA standings.
