Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark recently joined the “Fresh Tawk” podcast, hosted by Iowa Hawkeyes forward Jada Gyamfi.
While Clark was speaking with her former teammates on the panel, Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall and Gyamfi, she revealed one of her biggest goals.
Clark mentioned that when she’s done playing basketball, eventually retiring from the WNBA, she’d like to open a restaurant or coffee shop.
The 22-year-old explained that it’s always been a dream of hers and she hopes to accomplish it when her time on the court is over.
“I want a coffee shop,” Clark said. “I love coffee… One day, I have to accomplish that… Hopefully, one day maybe, I’ll have a coffee shop or a restaurant or something. Just like a fun thing once I’m done playing.”
Clark mentioned that there was a vacant lot in her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, and she had always envisioned opening a restaurant there.
She said that she wanted to name the restaurant the “Rib Crib” when she was younger, but she’s currently leaning more toward a coffee shop.
While Clark may be looking toward her future away from basketball, fans are on a completely different wavelength. Since Clark’s rookie season ended in 2024, some fans have been counting down the days until the WNBA’s return.
Clark had an extremely successful rookie season, averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.
The rookie led the WNBA in average assists and helped Indiana reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
Indiana ended the season with a 20-20 record, listed as the No. 6 team in the WNBA standings. Despite being eliminated by the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs, Clark led a prosperous year in Indiana.
