Dani Carvajal was suspended for Spain’s Euro 2024 semi-final.
Dani Carvajal missed Spain’s Euro 2024 semi-final, but will he be able to play against England in the final?
On Wednesday England booked their place in the final of Euro 2024 with a 2-1 victory against the Netherlands.
Gareth Southgate’s side fell behind early on in Dortmund, but Harry Kane soon equalised from the penalty spot after he was caught in the box.
England played their best football of the tournament in the first half, but after the break they gradually sank deeper and deeper into their own half as the Netherlands pushed for a winner.
Southgate shuffled his pack by introducing Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins with 10 minutes left to play, and it was the latter who arrowed a shot into the bottom corner in the 90th minute to snatch victory.
England will now face Spain in Berlin on Sunday, their second successive Euros final.
Spain also came from behind in their semi-final, beating France 2-1 in an entertaining clash on Tuesday.
Luis de la Fuente’s side were without several key players; Robin Le Normand and Dani Carvajal through suspension and Pedri due to injury.
Carvajal was suspended after he was sent off during Spain’s quarter-final victory against Germany. The Real Madrid full-back was booked during extra-time, before he received a second yellow for hauling down Jamal Musiala.
However, Carvajal’s first yellow card in that match also incurred a ban, as it was his second of the tournament.

Unfortunately for England, it appears that the 32-year-old will not have to serve two separate suspensions as UEFA does not add together suspensions for yellow card accumulation and red cards.
UEFA’s rules on suspensions do not refer to a ‘one-match ban’ as the punishment in either case, but states that a player will be suspended for “the next match in the competition.”
UEFA can hand out longer suspensions following red cards awarded for “serious offences”, but Carvajal’s dismissal doesn’t fall into that category.
As well as Carvajal, De La Fuente will be able to call upon Le Normand, after the completion of his one-match ban.
Spain will remain without Pedri, who suffered a tournament-ending knee injury in the quarter-final.
It remains to be seen whether Alvaro Morata will be fit after a steward collided with him following the semi-final.
