The presenters couldn’t believe what they were hearing.
The hosts of ITV’s This Morning were left stunned when Trent Alexander-Arnold’s old school teacher tipped England to lose on live tv.
On Wednesday England will take on the Netherlands in the semi-finals of Euro 2024, with a place in the final against Spain up for grabs.
Gareth Southgate’s side have so far underwhelmed in Germany, with the manager and his star players coming under intense scrutiny.
England beat Serbia 1-0 in their opening match before drawing 1-1 and 0-0 with Denmark and Slovenia respectively.
Finishing top of Group C earned the Three Lions a round-of-16 tie against Slovakia, but a 95th-minute Jude Bellingham wondergoal and an extra-time winner from Harry Kane were needed to spare their blushes.

A 1-1 draw with Switzerland followed, with Southgate’s side progressing 5-3 on penalties.
Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the decisive spot-kick against Swiss, a big personal moment after he was dropped following England’s opening two matches.
The 25-year-old is not expected to start against the Netherlands in Dortmund, but ITV chat show This Morning decided to invite his old school teacher Derek Williams onto the programme.
During a video chat with Mr Williams, hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley asked the teacher for his match prediction. They certainly didn’t expect the reply he gave.
“[England are] Gonna get beat 2-1, [Cody] Gakpo and [Virgil] Van Dijk are gonna score, and Trent will score the goal for them. Liverpool connection.”
Slightly taken aback, Shephard replied: “So you’re saying that England are going to lose?”
Williams replied deadpan: “I think they might, yeah. I think the Liverpool lads might score a goal tonight.”
If England beat the Netherlands then they will face Spain in the final on Sunday, a repeat of the 2023 Women’s World Cup final.
