Roy Keane reveals disgusting 'out-of-body experience' he had while on stag do in Dublin

Manchester United legend Keane has revealed his hatred for stag and hen dos.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane says he once had an embarrassing “out-of-body experience” while on a stag do in Dublin.

Keane is well known for his no-nonsense attitude to football and the world in general, so it is perhaps no surprise that the former United captain isn’t a massive fan of stag dos – or overly celebrating anything.

On the most recent episode of Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet, Keane and his fellow pundits were asked what they would place in Room 101.

And the former Republic of Ireland international was quick to suggest stag and hen dos, revealing them as one of his (many) pet hates.

“[I hate] stag and hen dos,” he said.

“When they’re walking through the airport with learner signs on – really? And pictures of their boyfriend that they’re getting married to, and all their friends have matching t-shirts. What are you doing?”

Keane opened up on a disgusting incident that occurred during one stag do that he attended, which soured his opinion of them for good.

“Every week was a stag [at Manchester United]. I’ve been on one stag in Dublin. I had a moment where I thought ‘Is that really it?’,” added Keane.

“We had a drinking morning with lots of Bacardi Breezers, and in the afternoon we went back to get changed. I walked past the rooms at 4pm in the afternoon and I was struggling.

“You know when people leave their food outside their door – I sat down, there was an old bowl of soup and I had it! It was an out-of-body experience going ‘What are you doing?’

“I went back and got changed and went back out. I just thought ‘has it come to this?'”

The former United captain added: “When you go to these stags, and the guy who got married, you just knew they weren’t going to stay married. Everyone gets divorced.

“Knew they weren’t going to stay together. I was right, they didn’t stay together, of course. Like most people.”

Keane’s fellow pundits were left in hysterics by his bizarre soup story, but former Arsenal striker Ian Wright also praised the former United man for being so open.

“That’s a powerful image,” said Wright.

“You know what I love Roy, that you’ve got to a place where you can talk about something like that comfortably. You don’t drink now, it’s amazing.

“It’s amazing turnaround that’s why you can laugh.”
