The former Man Utd midfielder has delivered his verdict on the Premier League title race.
Paul Scholes has outlined who he thinks will win the Premier League title this season.
The tenacious midfielder won England’s top flight on 11 different occasions with Manchester United and has given his early prediction on who he thinks will win the crown in 2024/25.
Scholes thinks only one team are capable of ending Manchester City’s dominance after Pep Guardiola’s side won their fourth consecutive league title last season, something that has never been done previously in the top tier of English football.
“I think the Premier League favourites will be the same as last year,” began Scholes as he previewed the new campaign.
“I think City will be the favourites closely followed by Arsenal.
“I have said a few times I expect Arsenal to be the team to win it this year.
“They have progressed over the last few years with Mikel Arteta especially.

“I feel like this year is the time where they are ready to win it.
“I know it won’t be easy, there will be a lot of competition, as we know the top seven or eight teams in England are good teams, but this year I think Arsenal will be the team to break the City cycle.”
Arteta and his side have quietly gone about their business, bringing in just one new face into the club so far this summer.
Riccardo Calafiori arrived from Bologna and the defender will help provide further cover at the back for the Gunners, who boasted the best backline in the division this season.
Elsewhere, David Raya’s loan move from Brentford has now also been made a permanent one.
“We know the demands in the league and the competition we are facing,” began Arteta, as he previewed the new season.
“So all the work we’re doing is to find ways to get better and to see where the margins can be for our improvement.
“That pain [from last season] is still there and I think it has to remain there, but after analysing the whole season with all the staff, the team has done a lot and probably in any other context we would have won the Premier League and that’s a big jump. But it’s not enough.”
