Fans are not happy with one player’s performance in the match.
Liverpool failed to find a goal in the first half of their season opener against Ipswich Town, and fans are blaming one player.
Arne Slot’s first-ever Premier League campaign got underway on Saturday morning, as Liverpool travelled to Portman Road Stadium to face newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
The Reds struggled in the opening half of the match, failing to register even one shot on target in the 45 minutes.
And Liverpool fans have responded to the dull performance by picking out one player in particular who has struggled in the match.

Andrew Robertson was a surprise inclusion in the starting lineup for the match, having played just 61 minutes in preseason in the match against Las Palmas.
One fan was damning in his response to the Scotsman’s performance, writing on X: “Three minutes into the season and I’m already sick of Robertson. He isn’t even championship standard anymore his performances have been a disgrace for ages now.”
Another questioned Slot’s decision to include him in the team, writing: “The one benefit of Robertson starting right now is that Slot will see first hard that he’s not good enough anymore.”
While one fan suggested that his lack of minutes in preseason could explain the performance: “Andy Robertson has been awful in these opening minutes, not sure if he’s lacking fitness.”
Despite travelling to the USA to meet up with the squad to train, Robertson had just eight days to prepare for the season opener against Ipswich Town.

Slot explained his late addition to training, saying: “He took a small injury into the Euros and afterwards he had to recover from that after playing those games.”
Robertson played almost 400 minutes over the summer, captaining Scotland throughout their 2024 European championships campaign.
Scotland exited the Euros in the group stage, after losing the matches against Hungary and hosts Germany, and drawing the match with Switzerland.
Kostas Tsimikas was expected to start the season as left-back for Liverpool, having played the majority of preseason, but instead the Greek defender was left on the bench for the start of the match.
