Jude Bellingham says he 'didn't know' England were playing Slovakia in next round of Euros

England will take on Slovakia in the last 16 of Euro 2024 on Sunday evening.

Jude Bellingham revealed he didn’t know England were up against Slovakia in the last 16 of Euro 2024.

On Tuesday night, a 0-0 draw against Slovenia saw England advance to the round of 16 as Group C winners.

Ahead of the last fixtures of the group stage, it was expected that the Three Lions would take on the Netherlands.

However, after Georgia managed a shock 2-0 win over Portugal, it was confirmed that England will instead play Slovakia on Sunday evening.

Appearing in the latest episode of Lions’ Den on England’s YouTube channel, Bellingham, who was joined by Trent Alexander-Arnold, appear to joke that he did not know who their next opponents are.

England presenter Josh Denzel said: “All eyes on Sunday, you’re playing Slovakia. We finally know, how are we feeling about it?”

Bellingham replied: “I didn’t know until you said but erm.”

At this point, Alexander-Arnold and Denzel burst out laughing.

Bellingham continued: “You’re always going to have tough games at this point in the tournament, I think people will obviously look at it and see Slovakia and think it will be an easy game.

“It’s definitely not the case because they will pose a different kind of threat and it’s a different kind of thing to break down.”

He added: “I think sometimes when you play some of the nations that come at you a bit more it’s a bit more open.

“I think it’ll be an interesting game and one that we’ll be confident we have enough to win. I know the performances haven’t been as good as they can be in the first three games but I think this is an opportunity for us to get back to the level that we need to be at.”
