Footage emerges of Alisson returning to Liverpool ahead of new season and it's got fans talking

Alisson Becker returned to Liverpool training on Friday.

Footage of Alisson Becker returning to Liverpool training has got fans talking.

With the 24/25 season inching ever close, most teams are now at the final stages of their pre-season preparation.

For Liverpool, new boss Arne Slot is yet to bring in any new players but did manage to win all three of their matches during their tour of the United States.

On Friday morning, a video was posted on Liverpool’s social media account, showing goalkeeper Alisson arriving for training.

The Brazilian is one of many Reds players who joined the squad late after playing at the 2024 Copa America for his country.

Reacting on social media, Liverpool fans had plenty to say about the manner in which Alisson walked into the AXA Training Centre.

One fan said: “Alisson looks really down. I hope he’s OK man.”

Another tweeted: “Bro Alisson does not look happy…”

A third fan added: “Every video and photo it looks like Alisson’s got the hump.”

Someone else joked: “Nice to see alisson looks thrilled.”

A fifth commented: “People reading too much into Alisson’s demeanour. First day back at work after your holidays, how does your face look?”

Another fan wrote: “If there is something with Allison, I’m sure Kelleher could get the go ahead as it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere. Just find it weird Alisson was the last to return when Brazil went out much earlier in the Copa. Know he wanted Achterberg to stay so not sure.”

In recent days, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Speaking on the Playback stream, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano said: “I can confirm the story. Liverpool have the possibility to sign Mamardashvili and send him on loan.

“So Liverpool have been presented this possibility. Mamardashvil is looking in case there will be some opportunity in the final weeks of the market, and Liverpool have the opportunity to go from Mamardashvili, sign him now and then loan him out.”

He added: “Liverpool basically are aware of the opportunity. Liverpool spoke to people in charge of the deal. Liverpool are informed of every detail of this story for Mamardashvili. Now it’s on Liverpool.

“They have to decide internally whether they want to pay something around 30 million euros for Mamardashvili, loan him out and consider him the potential future goalkeeper for Liverpool after Alisson, or if they want to leave this opportunity and continue with the goalkeepers they have.”
