The official job description for the England manager position has appeared on the FA website.
On Tuesday Gareth Southgate left his post as England manager, days after the Three Lions lost the European Championship final 2-1 to Spain.
After eight years in charge, Southgate labelled his time as England manager as the “honour of my life”.
The 53-year-old said that it was time “for a new chapter” after his final match in charge saw England become the first team ever to lose successive European Championship finals.
Upon his departure the FA have advertised the ‘England Men’s Senior Team Head Coach’ on their website.
The successful candidate will require a UEFA Pro License, need “significant experience of English football, with a strong track record delivering results in the Premier League and/or leading international competitions” and be an “exceptional leader”, able to develop English qualified players while being “highly resilient and comfortable in a very high-profile”.
As per the job description, the England manager must: “1) Lead and develop the England senior men’s team to win a major tournament and be consistently ranked as one of the top teams in the world.
“2) Provide inspiring leadership to a world class, multi-disciplinary technical team based at St. George’s Park.
