The official job description for the England manager position has appeared on the FA website.

On Tuesday Gareth Southgate left his post as England manager, days after the Three Lions lost the European Championship final 2-1 to Spain.

After eight years in charge, Southgate labelled his time as England manager as the “honour of my life”.

As per the job description, the England manager must: “1) Lead and develop the England senior men’s team to win a major tournament and be consistently ranked as one of the top teams in the world.

“2) Provide inspiring leadership to a world class, multi-disciplinary technical team based at St. George’s Park.
