England players and Gareth Southgate in line for huge bonuses if they beat Spain in Euro 2024 final

England take on Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday.

England players and coaching staff, including manager Gareth Southgate, are reportedly in line for huge bonuses should the Three Lions win the Euro 2024 final.

England take on Spain in the final on Sunday, having defeated the Netherlands 2-1 to reach the showpiece event on Wednesday.

Goals from Ollie Watkins and Harry Kane were enough to secure victory, with Watkins’ winner arriving in second half injury time.

Sunday will be England’s second consecutive appearance at a men’s European Championship final, with Southgate’s side losing on penalties to Italy at Euro 2020.

According to The Sun, the Three Lions will earn a share of £14 million if they lift the trophy come Sunday night in Germany.

That sum is as a result of a negotiation between the England squad and the FA, meaning players will earn a share of the £24 million that the country’s football association would receive for winning the tournament.

It is claimed that the amount assigned for the players in an event of a victory would be £9.6 million, with that sum being shared across the squad.

Southgate would also be in line for a £4.6 million bonus for becoming just the third England manager in the country’s history to win a major international tournament, while assistant coach Steve Holland would also receive an undisclosed bonus.

Speaking after Wednesday’s semi-final win, the England boss spoke about the criticism the team had received earlier on in the tournament – and praised England’s travelling support throughout the competition.

He said: “When you’re doing something for your country and you’re a proud Englishman, when you don’t feel that back and when you all read is criticism, it’s hard.

“To be able to celebrate the second final is very, very special.

“To be able to give them [the fans] a night like tonight, it’s very special.”
