David de Gea has ruled out one move this summer because of his loyalty to Man Utd

David de Gea dropped a hint about his future but one transfer is not on the cards for him.

David de Gea has already ruled out one move this summer after hinting at finding a new club.

The Spaniard is still a free agent more than a year after leaving Manchester United upon the expiry of his contract.

De Gea ended a 12-year association with United and wrote an emotional statement confirming his departure in July 2023.

United drafted in Andre Onana from Inter Milan as his replacement, but De Gea, despite reportedly having plenty of offers, is still without a club.

But it appears as though the 33-year-old’s situation could be changing in the near future, however.

On Saturday, De Gea hinted at returning to football when he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a hourglass emoji.

And according to The Athletic, there is substance to the social media post.

Citing sources, the report claims De Gea has received offers from a club in Saudi Arabia, one in the United States and another in Italy.

In the past Newcastle United were heavily linked with the former Atletico Madrid shotstopper and it is mentioned that a club from England have shown an interest.

However, it is noted that De Gea does not wish to play for another English side due to his loyalty to United and their fans.

He is expecting an update on his future next week after a full year without any action in between the sticks.

A 21-year-old De Gea signed for United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 for a fee of £18.9 million and went on to win the Premier League, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Europa League.

He made a club-record 545 appearances for a goalkeeper and kept 190 clean sheets in that time, winning two Premier League Golden Glove awards and making the PFA Team of the Year on five occasions.
