Chelsea’s summer recruitment is far from finished.
Chelsea have reportedly put in a ‘concrete offer’ for a second striker just hours after news broke of their pursuit of Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea lacked a goalscoring striker last season, with Nicolas Jackson misfiring and Christopher Nkunku missing most of the campaign through injury.
Enzo Maresca has replaced Mauricio Pochettino, and club bosses are looking to provide the coach with a new offensive weapon.
On Tuesday it emerged that Chelsea are in talks with Napoli over a deal for striker Victor Osimhen, with Romelu Lukaku set to move the other way.

According to reports, Chelsea would need either Osimhen’s £110 million release clause lowered or the structure of a deal altered.
A loan spell has been discussed, with Napoli keen to add an obligation to buy clause that would activate should Chelsea qualify for the Champions League.
While Osimhen has already agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, the 25-year-old is understood to favour a move to Stamford Bridge, provided an agreement can be reached between clubs.
But it appears that Chelsea aren’t done there.
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea have submitted a ‘concrete offer’ for Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier.

The 21-year-old attacker impressed during his first full season in the Bundesliga, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists in 33 outings as his side finished seventh to qualify for the Europa League.
According to Plettenberg, Aston Villa have also made an offer for Beier, while “two more top clubs from abroad have made contact in the last hours.”
Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are also interested, but no clubs have entered into negotiations with Hoffenheim or made any verbal agreements with the player.
Beier, who made one substitute appearance for Germany at Euro 2024, has a release clause worth €30m (£25.3m). A decision on his future is expected within the next two weeks.
So far this summer Chelsea have signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu and Tosin Adarabioyo.
