Angel Reese has been quite busy during the WNBA offseason after her successful rookie campaign with the Chicago Sky. While Reese starred on the court with the Sky, she’s been just as proficient off the court over the past few weeks since the season came to an end.

Among Reese’s current ventures is her own podcast, which is called “Unapologetically Angel.” Each episode, she has a new guest on the show, with last week’s guest being Hall of Fame NBA big man Shaquille O’Neal.

The episode with O’Neal drew some attention for some odd comments he made towards Reese during their talk. As a result, the parody account NBA Centel on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted a fake photo that was allegedly a screenshot from Reese showing that she had received a large amount of missed calls from O’Neal.

NBA Centel, which is a parody account of the popular NBA Central account, which reports real news, takes pride in frequently fooling fans into believing fake information. After several outlets ran with this picture, and presented it as real news, Reese caught wind of what was going on, and offered a stern message on social media to her fans.

Misinformation can spread like wildfire when you have accounts like this that purposely attempt to spread lies. And when you present fans with juicy topics like this, fans are often going to do most of the work for you by spreading it like crazy.

In case there were fans who believed the image was real, Reese quickly shot it down, warning folks to not believe everything they see, which is incredibly important to keep in mind in the social media crazed society we live in.

With this drama in the rearview mirror, Reese can turn her attention towards promoting her next episode, which features Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony.
