Caitlin Clark exceeded expectations in her rookie season as the WNBA’s No. 1 overall pick, leading her Indiana Fever squad to a playoff berth while shattering league records along the way.
Clark’s debut campaign came to an end with a first-round playoff sweep at the hands of the Connecticut Sun. Following the Fever’s Game 2 loss, Clark took to social media with a message of gratitude for all who’ve supported her along the way.
“Year one [checkmark] — thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream. I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life. See you all in year two,” Clark wrote in a post on Instagram.
Countless notable figures from around the basketball world flooded Clark’s comment section, including women’s basketball legend Nancy Lieberman.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer responded to Clark’s post with a simple message.
“Thank you! [fire emoji],” Lieberman wrote in the comment section.

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and a league-leading 8.4 assists per game in her rookie season. She was officially named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year on Thursday.
