Fans can’t help relating to Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

The Indiana Fever won their second consecutive game, an 84-80 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday (Aug. 28).

Fever guard Caitlin Clark broke the league’s rookie 3-point record by drilling her 86th in front of a star-studded home crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse that included Simone Biles and David Letterman. Clark finished with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Kelsey Mitchell put up a team-high 23 points with 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

With Katie Lou Samuelson out, Lexie Hull took her spot in the starting lineup and she did not disappoint. Hull scored 17 points, including 4 of 6 shooting from 3-point range, with 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block. Since returning from the Olympic break, Hull is shooting 70.03% on 3s — the highest percentage in the WNBA during that span.

Hull addressed the media alongside Clark and Mitchell after the game. However, while trying to discuss her defensive performance, the 24-year-old made a comment that caused Clark to break.

“I was just trying to get my hands on as many balls as I could and take advantage of…” Hull said, before she heard the rookie laugh out loud. “Caitlin?… We’re done.”

Clark put her hands on her face, “Oh, Lex,” she said. Mitchell was laughing, too.

Fans absolutely loved seeing the women enjoying themselves and keeping things light as they fight for the franchise’s first postseason berth since 2016.

With a 15-16 record, Indiana has nine more games to solidify their spot in the top eight and head into the playoffs. Next up for the Fever, a highly anticipated rematch against the Chicago Sky on Friday (Aug. 30).
