Longtime NFL reporter Erin Andrews and the Fox Sports crew have covered several of the league’s top teams this season, including the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions.
During the Week 7 slate, Andrews and the Fox Sports team were in the Bay Area for a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. They were in attendance to watch the Chiefs convincingly defeat the 49ers 28-18.
Following the Sunday matchup, Andrews took to social media to share a photo of her postgame interview with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Upon releasing the photo with Mahomes, Andrews attached a lengthy caption that credited the Chiefs quarterback as the “face of the NFL.”
“We don’t get to cover the Chiefs enough during the season. But when we do, it’s always pretty damn cool getting to talk to the face of the NFL, Patrick Mahomes.”
She also mentioned that she was with “royalty” and added the goat emoji, which is often a reference to “greatest of all time.”
Mahomes has certainly played his way into the “face of the NFL” conversation over the last few years. He’s led the Chiefs into what many believe is a dynasty, helping KC win a Super Bowl title in 2020, 2023 and 2024.
After Mahomes secured the Chiefs’ starting quarterback role in 2018, Kansas City quickly turned into a consistent threat for the NFL title.
During his tenure as the starter in Kansas City, Mahomes has been named a two-time NFL MVP, three-time Super Bowl MVP and six-time Pro Bowler.

Mahomes didn’t fare well against the 49ers in Week 7, but the Chiefs were still able to squeeze out the victory. He recorded two interceptions and 154 yards while completing 16-of-27 pass attempts, marking his lowest completion percentage of the season at 59.3%.
Despite the struggles from Mahomes, the Chiefs advanced to 6-0 with the victory, becoming the only undefeated team in the NFL.
