Travis Kelce is struggling with the Kansas City Chiefs this 2024 season, and former NFL star-turned-analyst Rodney Harrison believes he knows the reason why.

Through three weeks of NFL action, Kelce has only tallied eight receptions for 69 yards. He has yet to score a touchdown, and he hasn’t really been targeted much by Patrick Mahomes during their games.

In their Week 3 showdown with the Atlanta Falcons, Kelce was only targeted four times and recorded three catches for 34 yards.

Kelce is clearly not at his best form, and Harrison thinks it’s because the Chiefs’ star TE is distracted by several off-court stuff.

As everyone knows, Kelce is currently dating pop star Taylor Swift, and they always draw plenty of attention whenever they are out together. He also has a podcast with his brother, retired NFL star Jason Kelce.

More recently, Kelce also starred in Ryan Murphy’s horror series for FX titled “Grotesquerie.”

“He’s busy, he’s got a lot on his plate,” Harrison explained, per Fox News. “You think about it, he’s doing a lot of different things media-wise, he’s playing football, he’s got other things going on. It’s a lot of stuff going on. But when you’re in that situation, you got to focus on everything else, and you got to focus 100% on football and that’s the main responsibility.”

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (87) at training camp.Rodney Harrison was also critical of Travis Kelce’s performance against the Falcons, noting that the Chiefs star was not “great.”

“Guys making plays on him, you see Jessie Bates did a heck of a job on him tonight. He just doesn’t have the same speed,” the NBC Sports analyst and two-time Super Bowl champion stated. “He’s a good player still. I don’t believe he’s a great, great player.”

The criticisms of Kelce likely won’t stop until he finds his groove with the Chiefs again. It’s still early in the season, though, and he has plenty of opportunities to bounce back. The Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers next in Week 4.
